Sharing gadgets

Saving a gadget to a gadget file enables other users to include the gadget in their dashboards. Shared gadgets can open as a file for viewing and interaction or display in external web pages using Actuate JSAPI.

Shared gadget files use Actuate file permissions and users can save them to a private or shared folder. Gadgets in the dashboard shared folder are available in the Gadget Gallery for users to add to dashboards.

If a user wants the shared gadget to be available for subscription, the gadget must be in a shared dashboard.
