remote procedure call (RPC)

Enables a client application to execute a function or method by sending a message to a server or other program running on another computer. An Actuate Information Delivery API (IDAPI) client application uses the RPC framework to send a Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) request to Actuate BIRT iServer System to perform a web service.
