1	In Actuate Basic technology, a component that determines the logical structure of information in a report design. Sections process data rows to determine which visual components should generate output. There are five types of sections: conditional, group, parallel, report, and sequential sections.

2	In BIRT technology, a horizontal band in a report design. A section uses a grid element, list element, or table element to contain data values, images, and text.
