Archiving and aging rules apply to BIRT reports, third-party reports, folders, and job notifications. Using the Actuate Information Delivery API, an application developer can create, update, view, and remove autoarchive rules for these items.

A developer also can set autoarchive rules for all the files in an Encyclopedia volume or for a particular file or file type.

A user running the application must have delete and write privileges to modify autoarchive settings.
