Creating information objects An information object is a business-friendly view of data designed for use with report design applications such as BIRT Studio. Information objects, which can extract and integrate data from a variety of sources, including relational databases, stored procedures, web services, and XML documents, enable BIRT Studio users to focus on the data to present in a report, rather than focusing on how to obtain the data. You create information objects using the IO Design perspective in Actuate BIRT Designer Professional.
