Installing BIRT iHub modules on Linux

The following sections describe how to use the single-module installers to install BIRT iHub modules on Linux. To use the command-line installer, see Using the command-line installation package on Linux.

When installing using the BIRT iHub installation script, the administrator performs the following tasks:

Downloads the installation packages, SystemConsole-ihub3.tar.gz and a single module, such as BIRTiHubVisualization-ihub3.tar.gz, from the software distribution site

For System Console and the additional module:

Unpacks the contents of the installation package

Reviews the software license agreement

Updates the installation properties file

Runs install.sh, installing into a directory such as /home/actuate/ihub3
