About mobile platforms
Usage patterns for mobile devices are different than a desktop or laptop computer user. For example, mobile users may be in an environment with many distractions and may be using the mobile device with a single hand. Another pattern is that tablet users frequently view their device in landscape orientation and phone users frequently use their device in portrait orientation.
Mobile devices are portable, use smaller screen sizes than a typical computer monitor, and often use gesture and touch controls instead of a computer keyboard and mouse. Network access speed for mobile devices is also less than a typical computer network speed in an office environment.
You can view BIRT documents on mobile devices using various formats such as HTML, Adobe PDF, and image files. Interactive viewing of BIRT content is supported using the BIRT iHub Viewer for Android and Apple iOS devices. Web designers can also embed BIRT content into their own web pages using the Actuate JavaScript API.
