Creating maps

A map represents one of the following:

A database table

A database view

A query written in the database’s native SQL

A result set from a stored procedure

A result set from an ODA data source query

A map file name has a .sma extension. Map file names are not case-sensitive.

You can create column categories for maps of database tables and views. For other map types, build an information object from the map using the graphical information object editor and create column categories for the information
object.
