The Configure SMTP server module allows the administrator to specify the settings for the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server used for sending e‑mail notifications. To configure an SMTP server, specify the following settings:

Name of the server
Port
Port at which the server listens on the network
User
BIRT Analytics system user name
Password
BIRT Analytics system user password
Requires SSL
Select to specify whether the SMTP service uses a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), a commonly used protocol for managing message transmission security on the internet
Figure 1‑39 shows a typical configuration. Choose Save to save the SMTP server settings.
