About using BIRT Viewer on mobile devices
You can view BIRT content on Apple® and Android™ mobile devices using Actuate BIRT Viewer for mobile.

Using BIRT Viewer for mobile, you can connect to a volume over a virtual private network (VPN) or wireless network. Before you begin you must set up mobile subscriptions to the reports that you want to be viewed on a mobile device. These reports then become available for viewing after you install and configure the BIRT Viewer for mobile application.
Actuate BIRT Viewer HD supports performing the following tasks on tablet devices:
Viewing BIRT reports
Printing reports on supported printers
Specifying parameter values to display specific data in reports
Using hyperlinks to view additional details in other reports, access external web sites, and send e‑mail
Using contact e‑mail and phone numbers in a report

Actuate BIRT Viewer for mobile supports performing the following tasks on iPhone devices:
Specifying parameter values to display specific data
Using hyperlinks to view additional details in other reports
Viewing HTML5 charts

You must download a specific version of BIRT Viewer, based on your mobile device, as follows:
If you use a tablet, download BIRT Viewer HD
If you use a phone, download BIRT Viewer for mobile
After installing the application, you must configure a connection profile to access Actuate Information Console, which contains the reports you want to view. Next, you must log in to Information Console and subscribe to those reports. Then, when BIRT Viewer for mobile connects to Information Console, the BIRT reports become available on your mobile device.
To access Actuate Information Console from your mobile device, first configure a virtual private network (VPN) connection, if the Information Console server is protected by a network firewall. When using BIRT Viewer for mobile, data usage charges can apply depending on how your device connects to the network.
