You can change the spacing around and within the chart using inset settings. To add more space, use a higher inset setting. For example, Figure 21‑48 shows the effect of using two different chart top inset settings.

By default, inset values appear in points. To specify different units, such as pixels, inches, or centimeters, use Property Editor, as shown in Figure 21‑49, to select the chart unit. The unit that you choose applies to chart settings such as insets, or the width of series in three-dimensional charts and charts with depth.

To increase or decrease the number of units between chart elements, navigate to the Chart Area section of Format Chart, then choose General Properties and change the number of units, as shown in Figure 21‑50.

To set chart area insets, navigate to the Chart Area section of Format Chart, then choose Outline to see inset options, as shown in Figure 21‑51. Type a value in one or more of the Insets fields.
